The Swan Hill Central Business Precinct Masterplan will guide how the city centre grows and improves over time. It aims to create better public spaces, support local business and activity, and strengthen what makes Swan Hill unique. The plan will build on past work, community ideas, and expert input to help keep the CBD welcoming and resilient.

As the heart of the town, this area is a key focus for new activity, better links to the riverfront and showgrounds, and upgrades to streets and open spaces. We want to hear from everyone who lives, works, visits, or invests in Swan Hill.

Project Timeline + Key Dates

  • Early project work, including site analysis and background studies, will take place before community engagement begins.

  • This is the first major public involvement period.
    It includes:

    • Online engagement

    • Drop-in sessions

    • Community group workshops

    • Surveys

    • An online engagement platform

    This is where the community helps shape the direction of the masterplan.

  • After early feedback is gathered, the team will prepare preliminary design ideas for the city centre.
    The community will have opportunities to:

    • Review the early concepts

    • Provide feedback on design directions

  • A full Draft Masterplan will be prepared and then shared for public input.

    This will be a major milestone because it shows the combined analysis, design work, and community ideas brought together in one plan.

    Community involvement typically includes:

    • Public review of the draft

    • Feedback via online engagement or sessions

    • Opportunity to check that the plan reflects community needs

  • The Final Masterplan will be refined after feedback on the draft.
    It will then be prepared for final review and completion.

    This marks the formal completion of the project.

Project Update

Community engagement for the Swan Hill Central Precinct Masterplan is continuing. An online survey will be launching soon, providing an opportunity to share your ideas and feedback.

We are also planning in-person consultation sessions on Friday 20 February and Saturday 21 February.
